Welcome Home Ohio

Welcome Home Ohio is a new program designed to expand access to safe, quality, and affordable housing across our region. Through funding provided by the Ohio Department of Development, Maumee Valley Planning Organization is working with local Land Banks and community partners to rehabilitate vacant and blighted properties or build new homes, creating new opportunities for homeownership. This initiative supports neighborhood revitalization while helping more Ohio families find a place to call home.

If you have a home that you'd like the Land Bank to take off your hands, fill out the application! The Land Bank is interested in purchasing homes that are in need of repair to help a family establish homeownership.

buyer eligibility

Eligible Buyers must be income eligible, defined as making 80% or less than the Area Median Income for your entire household (See chart below). Additionally, eligible buyers must:

Must have a pre-approval letter from a mortgage lender. If not already working with a lender, please click here to view our lender partners
Must have completed or will complete financial literacy program offered by NOCAC or similar agency/partner
Buyer must make WHO home their primary residence for 5 years following the initial sale
Renting out any portion of the home is not allowed
A deed restriction will be placed on the home for 20 years following the initial sale to ensure that the home is sold to an income eligible person

Upon initial review of the pre-application, you will be asked to schedule a meeting with Maumee Valley Planning Organization where you will be required to bring the following materials to continue the qualification process:

Driver’s License or other Photo ID
Income: 2 consecutive month’s of pay stubs or other proof of income
Bank Statements: 6 months of previous bank statements
Other Income: Child Support Letter, Social Security, Etc.
Tax Return: All pages of your most recent filed tax return
Pre-approval or Pre-Qualification letter with mortgage lender or other proof of financing for the purchase of a home
