Technical Assistance

MVPO assists its member communities with the following technical assistance activities as part of the RTPO program:

MVPO can collect traffic and pedestrian counts in order to assist transportation and active transportation planning in the region.

Grant Writing

Communities can apply for numerous State and Federal grants with assistance from MVPO. Programs related to transportation include trail development and recreational facilities through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, economic development opportunities through Transportation Improvement Districts, and Safety grants and Transportation Alternatives through the Ohio Department of Transportation. Transportation Planning

MVPO can assist communities in creating short and long range transportation planning.  Plans include: Safe Routes to School Travel Plans, Active Transportation Plan, and Coordinated Transportation Plan.  Click the link below to learn more about planning and current projects.

Safety Data

MVPO produced a comprehensive five-year Safety Report presenting regional crash trends from 2016-2020, top crash locations from 2018-2020, and potential funding opportunities to enhance safety throughout the Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO) region. The Top 50 Urban and Non-Urban Sections were also identified, along with the Top 50 Urban and Non-Urban Intersections.
